The Harrowing Truth

While many of us plan festive feasts, millions worry about whether they can afford their next meal.

Food poverty isn’t just a headline – it’s parents skipping meals so their kids can eat, families choosing between heating and food, and empty fridges in the middle of winter.
Right now, millions of people in the UK are living with food insecurity – meaning they can’t reliably afford or access enough food. Food banks and community kitchens are under more pressure than ever, while the rising cost of living continues to push more people into crisis.
Behind every statistic is a real person, just trying to get through December. We want to change that – one click, view, like, conversation and bottle at a time.

What We Are Doing

From 1st – 31st December, we’re donating 10p from every bottle of Rubies in the Rubble Ketchup to FareShare via Work For Good.

SO, just by choosing our products, you too can help make a family’s day this Christmas. No extra steps. No add-ons. No fuss.

Our team will be volunteering with FareShare throughout the month and giving you a sneak peek into the amazing work this charity do!
Follow us online for updates.

Who Is FareShare?

FareShare are the UK’s largest charity to tackle two huge crises of our time – food poverty and excessive food waste.

They work within the Food industry redistributing surplus food to those in need– ensuring nothing is unnecessarily wasted and, rather, redirecting it via a network of charities, to those in need.

Through Work for Good, Rubies Christmas sales will link directly to a trackable donation platform to support FareShare’s important work.

Our Vision:

To End Food Waste – One Dollop At A Time

This appeal is part of our wider mission to Do Gooder for People, Plate and Planet.

We commit to:

We use surplus and wonky ingredients wherever we can.

Advocating and lobbying for a food system where good food is eaten, not binned.

Educating change makers to make the most of the food they have.

Supporting charities and organisations like FareShare who are on the frontline of food poverty and food waste.

By backing this appeal, you’re helping tackle both food waste and food insecurity at the same time.

Terms & Conditions – Christmas FareShare Donation

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern our Christmas FareShare Donation Campaign (“the Campaign”). By purchasing our products during the Campaign, you agree to these Terms.

1. Organiser

The Campaign is run by [Rubies in the Rubble Ltd], registered in [England and Wales] with registered address [20 Ilchester Place Ilchester Place, London, England, W14 8AA] (“we”, “us”, “our”).

2. Campaign period

  • The Campaign runs from 00:01 on 1 December 2025 to 23:59 on 31 December 2025 (“Campaign Period”).

  • Only qualifying products sold during the Campaign Period will generate a donation.

3. Beneficiary charity and platform

  • Donations from this Campaign will be made to FareShare (the “Charity”), via Work for Good, a platform that enables small businesses to donate to charity through their sales.

  • FareShare is a registered charity in England & Wales (1100051) and Scotland (SC052672).

  • Work for Good acts as a commercial participator and facilitates our donations to the Charity.

4. Donation mechanic

  • For every qualifying product sold during the Campaign Period, we will donate £0.10 (10p) to FareShare via Work for Good.

  • The Qualifying product is:

    • Rubies in the Rubble Ketchup 485g, sold by us in the UK during the Campaign Period.

  • The donation amount per product is fixed at 10p, regardless of the retail price of the product.

5. How donations are calculated and paid

  • At the end of the Campaign Period, we will calculate the total number of qualifying products sold and multiply that by £0.10 to determine the total Campaign donation.

  • The total donation will then be paid to FareShare via Work for Good within a reasonable timeframe after the end of the Campaign Period, in accordance with our agreement with Work for Good.

  • Donations are made by us; there is no extra charge or separate payment required from customers at checkout.

6. No customer refunds of donations

  • The 10p donations are made by us based on total sales during the Campaign Period. Customers are not making a direct charity donation at checkout.

  • For this reason, there is no refund of “donation amounts” to customers. Any product refunds will be handled in line with our usual returns policy and will not affect the donation calculation already made, except in the case of clear error or fraud.

7. Transparency and reporting

  • After the end of the Campaign, we may share the total amount donated and highlight how FareShare uses support like this to help people facing food insecurity.

  • Any figures shared will reflect our final donation to FareShare via Work for Good under this Campaign.

8. Changes to the Campaign

  • We reserve the right to amend these Terms or to suspend/terminate the Campaign at any time if necessary due to reasons beyond our reasonable control (e.g. technical issues, changes in law, closure or merger of the Charity, or issues affecting Work for Good).

  • If we make material changes to the Campaign (such as changing the Charity or the donation amount per product), we will update this page and take reasonable steps to make customers aware.

9. Liability

  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

  • Subject to this, we will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or incidental losses arising out of or in connection with the Campaign.

10. Governing law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of [England and Wales] and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [England and Wales].
